A 16-year-old boy from the Island who was jailed for 7 years for terrorism offences earlier this month, has today (29th April) been sentenced further for various non-terror related offences including 8 counts of possession of an offensive weapon in prison. All of the offences occurred whilst the boy – who cannot be named for legal reasons – was remanded in custody. Having pleaded guilty to 4x common assault, 6x common assault of an emergency worker and 8x possession of an offensive weapon in a prison, the boy was handed a 12-month sentence – to be served concurrently with his existing sentence. It was earlier this month that Island Echo reported on the 7-year prison sentence handed down on the local boy following protracted legal proceedings which included a 3-week trial at Kingston Crown Court.

What is the point of a concurrent sentence? A waste of money holding a trial if that is the outcome. It shouldn’t be an option.
Haven’t this lot of feral inbred scum.Got nothing better to do.Get a job.Fxxkwits
Something dragged it up, so why not use it for medical research….
Served concurrently, so no extra time.
10 assault offences. Quite clearly a significant danger to the people guarding him.
The multiple attacks of staff would indicate he is also a serious danger to the public, yet there is no attempt to protect people with this “non-sentence”.
String the little shit up by it’s feet and just leave it hanging. I don’t see the point in keeping things like that alive, just a waste of tax payers money and oxygen.
concurrently, ha ha ha
No justice in this failing country.
Good riddance, best place for him. Imagine the massacre of all those festival goers in Newport if the FBI hadn’t passed on their information to our security forces? I hope he has a horrendous time in prison.
FFS…12 month Concurrent sentence ..What a waste of Tax payers money ..taking the Toe Rag
to court then letting him off with a year running concurrently with the 7yrs he has …unbelievable !!
Concurrent sentences shouldn’t be possible for offences relating to seperate events, nerds man.
Needs execution as treason
What? Like Sharia Law?
All concurrent sentences should be scrapped, separate sentences for each crime to be served concurrently, you do the crime you serve the time
Consecutively?
Our legal system is way too soft!
Maybe we as fellow islanders should be asking ourselves how have we let him down and what can we do to help him now and on his realease rather then talk about punish, punish punish.
Questions his parents are hopefully asking themselves. I’ve not let him down in any way…
Wasn’t me bud ! What a do gooder
Go do your hand wringing somewhere else. It is people who think like you that have turned this country into a lawless dump. Bloody snowflakes.
What a pathetic thing to say! I’m glad idiots like you, are very much in the minority.
I know we’re very much in the minority, but I’m with you on this one.
The scary time will be when he is released…
sentences that run concurrently should be banned and the courts should add the jail time to excising jail time, i was subject to a serious assault and the assailant got 6 months for battery to serve concurrently, he was out in 3 months so now sentence for the attack on me just the time for his previous suspended sentence
Bloody do gooder B/S can’t be named for legal reasons again. He has some sort of screw loose, so the public need to know what it is for legal reasons. HTF does he get 8 counts of possession of an offensive weapon in prison? Warped little shit needs to suddenly dissapear one dark night for legal reasons to protect the public. Why have we got to go through so much B/S varyfying pictures to get a comment posted when this little head case is allowed to draw air?
I think as soon as they are found guilty their name should be released. If you commit the crime you have to suffer the consequences.
7 years probably out in 4, now he’s 20 years old, he’ll carry on with were he left off, modern justice has failed.
He should have received 20yrs for previous offence +10 more yrs on top for this case. He will come out 100% worse.
Not being able to identify the person is well out of date and an aid to miscreants to progress to more serious crimes it’s time to get back to basics in cases like this and stop protecting the guilty and start protecting the victims .
If the offences weren’t concurrent with the original one, then the sentence shouldn’t be concurrent either. What is wrong with these feeble judges? The prosecution should appeal on the grounds of excessive leniency.
This seems to have triggered the brexit voters hahaha
This kid is now in jail with other terrorists, being indoctrinated and making new contacts and learning new things. This will be a very dangerous individual once released. He may well proceed with his original plan to do harm to many innocent civilians, including women and children, His identity should not be kept hidden anymore, It’s not like the police can be watching him 24/7, the general public has a right to know so they can be vigilant when he is released.
Total scum 7 years is not enough should of had life he will come out more twisted than he is now
well when he turns 18 island echo are going to name him so all you trolls can go and lynch him and show society that you are much better than a 16 year old kid and you know it , he doesnt need help obviousley just needs showing by a bunch of thugs
Well said!
He can’t help it but he also can’t help it himself, big shameful he needs to sort himself out man big time so what would happen tho if any of the would bees couldn’t be identified God forbid, but man tho. And then throw away the key
He is clearly one very messed up young individual! I don’t think anything can be done to rehabilitate the likes of him . He must have a severe personality disorder as I know people that had a very rough childhood and have become very descent citizens so that is no excuse. Sadly it’s in him and he will remain a threat for years to come. Very sad !!
