The rainbow-coloured 2022 Isle of Wight Pride Parade made its way through the scorching streets of Ryde on Saturday (16th July).
Hundreds of enthusiastic spectators lined the streets as the parade started in Queen’s Road, before winding its way through West Street, Lind Street and Union Street before finishing at the Ascensos Community Village on the Esplanade.
There were 3 days of entertainment in Eastern Gardens. Among the artists performing were Mike Christie, Isabelle L’Amour, Milly Joliffe, Emellia, DJ Mancave, Wight Hot Pipes, Cherry Liquor, and Proud Mary.
Isle of Wight Pride 2022 was sponsored by Ascensos and Hose Rhodes Dickson, with support from Hovertravel, Southern Vectis, Visit Isle of Wight, and Wightlink. Apple Accountancy Ltd assisted in the organisation of the day, along with House of Huns, who coordinated the entertainment.
Ryde Town Council provided a generous grant and help to enable the event to take place and keep the seafront entertainment free.
I don’t understand the relevance of the isle of wight labour party contingent in the gay pride parade when all they were doing was screeching “tories out”, is it a reflection on the fact they have nothing to offer and have to hijack the work of others.
The whole thing has nothing to do with pride its more political. Certain groups and businesses even posted how they accepted this when really everyone should except everyone instead of creating more special agenda groups
Maybe it was just highlighting Tories ‘coming out’ for the parade.
Are we allowed to have a proud to be straight parade or would that be blocked by the woke brigade? Born a boy grow into a man, born a girl grow into a woman. There is nothing in between!!!
Straight people don’t get discriminated for who they are. Pride however is for everyone to be proud. It’s not necessarily just for gay folk.
Can anyone shed any light why the brass band was playing Christmas carols?
