The cheerful sound of ukuleles, lively jazz, and traditional brass band music will fill Vernon Square Gardens in Ryde for this year’s Summer Party next Saturday (28th June), from 14:00.
3 local groups will provide entertainment throughout the afternoon. The Rug Band will bring upbeat ukulele tunes alongside a variety of instruments including bass, fiddle, banjolele, flute, melodica, and percussion. Vectis Band will perform traditional marches, overtures, and hymns, and a quartet of students from Ryde School will showcase jazz and popular songs.
Refreshments on offer will include wine, Prosecco, Pimm’s, homemade lemonade, tea, coffee, cakes, and strawberries with cream.
There will also be a prize raffle, second-hand book stall, and plant sales. Entry is £3 per person, with free admission for members of the Vernon Square Conservation Society. Proceeds will go towards maintaining the gardens.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs and rugs. Please note, dogs are not allowed in the gardens except for assistance dogs.
Looking forward to the event, always a great
day out.
