A fortunate group of Isle of Wight Studio School students were given the opportunity to visit the award winning Liz Earle Beauty Company recently as part of a project based learning experience.
Students are studying for a CREST Award (Creativity in Science and Technology) by developing, testing and manufacturing a range of bath bombs.
A number of key personnel at Liz Earle presented information that explained the product development cycle from conception to sale. Students were enthused by the experience which supported classroom learning in both science and business.
16-year-old Jack Myles said:
“I got lots of ideas on how to improve my product, for example the thought that goes into packaging”.
Dani Jefford, 15, reported:
“It helped me with my business studies as it furthered my knowledge of how a real business worked, for example how the needs of their target market are identified”.
Staff and students would like to thank Liz Earle Beauty Company for their hospitality and the effort they put into their presentation.
