Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team has said goodbye to dedicated volunteer Steve Biggs as he takes up his new role as Station Officer at Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team.
Steve – known as Ventnor 09 – has been part of the Ventnor team for the past 5 years and this year completed a total of 20 years of service with HM Coastguard. He has attended hundreds if not thousands of shouts over the past 2 decades, helping to save the lives of Islanders and visitors alike.
Now, in the next stage of his career as a volunteer coastguard, Steve has been promoted to Station Officer of Bembridge CRT. He is to be supported by the station’s new Deputy Station Officer, Jeff Anderson.
James Potter, Station Officer at Ventnor CRT, has said:
“We look forward to working with Steve and his team. Many thanks for your support and hard work within the Ventnor CRT”.
