Smallbrook Lane in Ryde will re-open to motorists heading towards Westridge Cross from tomorrow morning (Tuesday).
The road has been closed in both directions for the past 2 weeks as part of the ongoing major junction improvement works, which will eventually see the roundabout re-centred and a new speed limit introduced.
Southern Water has been working to move the main water supply for Ryde with the complete road closure required to dig across the carriageway.
Now, following a slight overrun of 1 day, it has been confirmed that the next phase of the 6-month project will begin tomorrow allowing the road to re-open in one direction.
Smallbrook Lane will remain closed for motorists heading away from Westridge (westbound) until April next year.
Few would ever have expected all the fuss to install just one country roundabout.

Obviously getting ready for all the new houses, but still think that mains is a bit small in diameter.. think of the future, not just next month…
