UPDATED: A yellow severe weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for heavy rain towards the end of the weekend, however forecasters say this could easily turn to sleet or even snow as the temperatures plummet.
A slow-moving band of rain will affect the Isle of Wight throughout Sunday and into the early hours of Monday, with the rain turning heavy at times.
More than 20mm of rainfall is expected which could lead to further disruption following a week of adverse weather.
The Met Office say there is the risk that the rain could turn to sleet or settling snow as cold air cuts beneath the rain-bearing cloud.
UPDATE SATURDAY @ 10:00 – The Met Office have cancelled tomorrow’s yellow weather warning for heavy rain.
The news will come as a joy to many, who faced another prolonged period of wet weather and potential flooding.
