Residents at the Merrydale Residential Care Home in Ryde have been experiencing bygone days thanks to HUSH, the Silent Disco Company.
The residents, many of which suffer from age-related illnesses, recently switched daytime TV for a set of flashing Silent Disco headphones. They enjoyed a host of singalong tunes from their younger days from The Beatles to Frank Sinatra and The Foundations, with the objective to trigger some musical memories and have a bit of fun.
The benefit of a silent disco is that there is no noise, so those residents that didn’t wish to participate were not disturbed.
The modern technology is normally seen in use at the Isle of Wight Festival or at the top of the Spinnaker Tower.
