A cheque for £50 has been handed over to The Friends of Shanklin Theatre (FOST) this week thanks to an ongoing fundraising initiative by a local Co-Op store.
Friends Chairman David Kast and Vice Chairman Michael Beston met with the Simon Thompson of Shanklin’s Landguard Road Co-Op to receive the monies raised from the store’s Local Causes programme.
Every time you buy Co-Op own brand products at the Landguard Road store, present your Co-Op membership card at the till and 1% will be allocated to The Friends of Shanklin Theatre and 5% of what you spend will go into your own membership account.
Islanders are being urged to select the Theatre as their cause of choice by logging into their membership account at https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes.
To date the Theatre has raised over £678 to go towards replacing the old and worn out historic windows.
