UPDATED: A young school girl has been involved in a collision with a car near to Osborne House in East Cowes this morning (Friday).
Police and paramedics are in attendance at the scene on York Avenue outside the petrol station.
Island Echo understands the child ran out from behind a van, into the path of the oncoming car.
Emergency services were called to the incident at just before 08:45.
Motorists are being diverted locally.
UPDATE @ 10:01 – The young girl has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital, however she is not thought to have sustained any serious, life-threatening injuries.
Her parents have been notified.
The incident has now been cleared.
