Santa Claus will be catching a ride with Freshwater’s firefighters on Christmas Day for a tour of both Freshwater and Totland.
Despite being incredibly busy, Father Christmas has spared an hour of his time to say hello to the boys and girls of the West Wight – thanks to the efforts of the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service’s retained firefighters at Station 9.
Children of all ages are being urged to keep an eye out for Santa and the fire engine as they may just get a little present as he passes by!
Santa will be leaving Freshwater Fire Station at 10:00 on Christmas morning with his 2 firefighter helpers – ‘Elf’ and ‘Safety’.
The magical route
Santa’s unique mode of transport for the big day will take him from the fire station along The Avenue, down The Broadway, around the roundabout and back along The Broadway and The Avenue, down Avenue Road, along School Green Road, up Hooke Hill and Copse Lane to Regina Road, Edinburgh Road and Parkway.
He will then go back down Copse Lane and Hooke Hill, along Stroud Road, Camp Road and Queens Road to Windmill Lane, back along Queens Road, along Tennyson Road to Princess Road and Solent Gardens and then along Heathfield Road before visiting The Gouldings at St Andrews Way.
