A popular ‘splash park’ in Ryde has received a free makeover thanks to the generosity of 2 local businesses.
Both Newgents External Cleaning and Harvey Clearance and Maintenance teamed up to spruce up the popular seaside attraction, which is located next to the Ryde Canoe Lake.
The area had seen a decline in cleanliness following the Winter season, with dirt and moss building up on its ground surface, and an abundance of sand, litter, and weeds providing an unsanitary experience to any children planning to use it.
Between the 2 companies, 30 black bags of rubbish and waste were cleared from the area, and the ground surface was jetwashed to restore it to its former glory.
Special thanks to the proprietors of the Alamo restaurant have also been given by both Newgents and Harvey Clearance and Maintenance after they spotted the teams working and offered them lunch and drinks on the house.

A huge ‘well done’ to all of you guys for doing this.
Well done to everyone involved great community spirit
Great story and wonderful community support from local companies but why on earth are these areas not maintained by the council… Its like they have no responsibilities on this island!
Well done and thank you to all. I shall be going to the Alamo soon for a big breakfast and a coffee in reward to you all.
