2nd Ryde Sea Scout Group, an organisation which works to promote the development of young people in the Isle of Wight, has received much-needed support from Anglian Home Improvements in the form of 2 new windows worth £1,000.
To mark its 50th anniversary, Anglian Home Improvements carried out a nationwide community appeal to find 50 worthy causes to support across the UK. The company was inundated with requests from the likes of community groups, schools, local organisations and charities requiring new windows and doors, financial assistance, or another gesture of support.
After careful consideration by a panel of judges, which included television and radio presenter Philippa Forrester, Anglian Home Improvements selected 2nd Ryde Sea Scout Group as 1 of its 50 chosen causes to lend a helping hand to.
The Scout Group runs Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers for boys and girls aged 6 to 18. This gives children from all backgrounds the opportunity to learn new skills to reach their physical, intellectual, and social potential. Anglian Home Improvements’ donation of 2 new windows will help 2nd Ryde Scout Group to continue its fantastic work and ensure the scout hut remains warm and comfortable during the winter.
Dave Watts, Secretary at 2nd Ryde Sea Scout Group comments:
“In order to continue to make a difference to the lives of local children, we rely heavily on funding which is getting more difficult to raise every year. We are therefore extremely grateful to Anglian Home Improvements for its donation of two new windows which will help us to continue to provide challenges and adventures for the local children.”
Rachael Munby, Marketing Director at Anglian Home Improvements, says:
“2nd Ryde Scout Group stood out to the judges for the invaluable contribution it makes to the local area, and we are delighted to announce it as one of our #50for50 winners.
“As a company which is ‘local to you’ we are passionate about showing our support for the community. Our purpose is not only to ensure quality at every step of the customer journey, but also to help create a positive legacy in the areas in which we operate. Anglian’s #50for50 campaign clearly demonstrates this and we look forward to seeing the difference our support will make to 2nd Ryde Scout Group and the other worthy winners.”
