A group of 22 cyclists will be touring around the Isle of Wight this coming weekend (15th/16th July) to raise funds and awareness for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust.
‘The Kathleen Painter IOW Cycle Challenge’ has been organised by Kenny Smith in memory of his sister, Kathleen, who recently lost her long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Riders from across the UK are set to come together in support of the charity including Kenny’s wife, Sandra and daughter, Amy.
The challenge will get underway on Saturday with a Full English breakfast at The King Lud in Ryde before the riders set off along the coastal roads, stopping at all the major seaside beaches and sites. Day 1 will conclude at The Wight Mouse Inn, Chale.
Day 2 will once again see the fundraisers stop off and enjoy all the sites the Island has to offer before returning to The King Lud on Sunday afternoon.
2 years ago Kenny completed a round-the-island walk in aid of the Trust in just 33 hours. Now he is looking forward to exploring the Island on 2 wheels instead of 2 feet.
Businesses supporting the challenge including The King Lud (Ryde); Fat Harry’s (Sandown); The White Mouse Inn (Chale); Chale Bay Farm and The Hungry Pit Stop (East Cowes).
