UPDATED WITH VIDEO: Stroudwood Road on the outskirts of Ryde has been closed in both directions by Police this afternoon (Thursday) following a road traffic incident involving a cyclist.
Emergency services were called to the scene between Upton Cross and Rowlands Lane at around 16:20 after members of the public dialled 999. Paramedics from the Isle of Wigh Ambulance Service are attending to the cyclist and Police are investigating.
It is currently unknown if the cyclist was involved in a collision with a vehicle.
Motorists are advise to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 18:00 – Stroudwood Road, Ryde has now reopened in both directions.
