Festival revellers will have to show proof of a double vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative test in order to attend this year’s Isle of Wight Festival, it has been confirmed.
Organisers of the event, which will take place between 16th-19th September, have outlined the entry requirements for the Island’s largest gathering of people in over 18 months.
cinch presents Isle of Wight Festival 2021 will be at full capacity with around 50,000 people to descend on Seaclose Park in Newport. To keep everyone safe, stewards at the gates will need to see 1 of the following:
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination with second doses received at least 14 days before your arrival or…
- Proof of a negative NHS COVID-19 Lateral Flow Test taken within 72 hours of your arrival or…
- Proof of natural immunity via NHS app based upon a positive PCR test taken within 180 days of the performance (including 10 days self-isolation following the result).
The rules will only apply to those over the age of 11.
It’s unclear at this stage what impact the checking of ‘COVID passports’ will have on entry queues – and it may be something unknown until the gates open.
Headliners for Isle of Wight Festival 2021 include Liam Gallagher, Snow Patrol, David Guetta and Duran Duran with special guest Sir Tom Jones.

So it’s ok to spread it as long you’ve been Vaccinated.
Time was when they used to discourage those who had been double jabbed from getting in.
Love your humour
No. A revolution is on the cards. There is only so much of this utter BS people can take.
That’s all very well, but those checks will apparently only be done on the gate…… if they are refused entry they are still on the Island and liable to spread it anyway. These checks SHOULD be done before they even get on the ferry if they have a ticket.
What a load of rubbish what happens to people who live on the island or come over on their own boats. Where would you test them?
I am sorry, but I fail to understand the continued semi-hysterical reaction to this disease. It is an affront to personal freedoms and liberties to insist that you share your personal medical information in this manner. All this sort of thing will achieve is a society of unequal!
So you’ve not had anyone die of COVID that you know or who are related to you then.
I suspect you don’t want to share your medical information with authorities but are happy to spread and share your personal information and day to day life with stuff on Facebook, tic tok etc
Exactly
So just get a lateral flow test put some water on it record as negative – job done
And you wonder why diseases spread !
Ha! Ha! Your be stood in line all day! Hope it’s pouring down!
So I’ve had to shell out £70 in tests to go to a Greek island but festival goers can use a NHS test which is free of charge. At least it might make me 18 to 30-year-olds take the vaccine I suppose
Bought the tickets some time ago but haven’t received any email to tell me of this change to admission! So how will people know about this requirement before they arrive. I can see a lot of angry people being turned away, not good for anyone!!
