This year’s Isle of Wight Randonnee cycling event raised a total of £1,500 for 2 local charities.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Carers IOW have both benefitted to the tune of £750 each thanks to donations collected during May’s cycling extravaganza.
The Isle of Wight Randonnee was established by the Wayfarers Cycle Touring Club in 1985. The free, family friendly event is the largest event of its kind on the South Coast and attracts around 3,000 participants each year.

Wow,.. the equivalent of 50p donated from each cyclist…
I bet more could be raised if every motorist and pedestrian on the island who was sworn at, run off the road and generally treated like they shouldn’t be on the road at the same time by the cycling mob donated 50p….
