Emerging and established artists have submitted works for Quay Arts’ biennial Open Exhibition 2021, which launches on Saturday (26th June).
With the title and theme ‘Freedom’, the works explore ideas centred around freedoms or lack of. The exhibition features sculpture, painting, print, textiles, photography and drawing.
1 artist will be selected from the Open Exhibition 2021 for a solo exhibition at Quay Arts in the West Gallery in 2023. A further selection of up to 7 artists will be selected for a specially curated group exhibition in the West Gallery for early 2022.
Exhibitions Curator Ian Whitmore says:
“Freedom was a delight and challenge to curate. Beyond the wide range of concepts, I love the combination of mediums and materials on display from card to bronze via silk and LEGO.”
The exhibition is in the West Gallery and is free to visit, everyday between 09:00-16:00.
Freedom exhibition continues until Sunday 29th August 2021.
