Pubs across the Isle of Wight will be permitted to stay open later on Sunday in the hope that England will be playing in the final of Euro 2020.
The Government has announced that licencing laws will be temporaryily adjusted to allow pubs to keep the doors open until 23:15.
The thinking is that if England makes it to the finals then pubs won’t have to kick punters out if the match ends up going into extra time and a penalty shoot-out.
Currently, pubs must close at 22:30 on a Sunday.
Sadly, the Euro 2020 final comes just over a week before COVID restrictions are lifted, meaning capacity will still be limited in pubs this weekend and social distancing in place.
Sorry when do the pubs ever close at half ten on a Sunday
That’s not good if you leave right near an already disrespectful and noisy pub is it. That’s right stick 2 fingers up at the people who have to get up at work at 6am ( or earlier ) to go and work at the hospital, shameful.

You’re quite narrow minded and selfish yourself. I think people who move near pubs do so on the understanding they’ll be following licensing laws and noise regulations. Most don’t. For example, I lived near a pub and had its punters peeing in the alley by my house when the bar was too busy to get to the toilets and music booming until after 1am every Friday night. The landlord didn’t give a damn. Times change, more houses are getting built – it’s time for pubs in residential areas to either follow the rules or close up shop.
Or look at it the other way, who was there first you or the pub?. If people choose to live near a pub they must make allowances.
I sometimes wonder, and I’m not the only one, if things are engineered in such a way as to make people angry and or suffer from intolerable stress, lack of sleep etc, so that there will be more rage around, causing arguments that could escalate into fights, so making work for legal profession, and all the stress causing health problems so making profits for the pharmaceutical industry. Think how much money there is in both those professions and occupations, money wants to protect itself. I may not know how to put it into the right words, but if you look at the bigger picture, it sometimes seems this way.
Islander born and bred try living in London or other mainland city’s and towns, I would blame it on overpopulation and immigration and multiculturalism plus 24 hour left wing mainstream media…. I could go on,….and no, the earth is not flat…., but good for you for thinking outside the box…respect x
