3 men have been arrested and questioned by Police on suspicion of supplying class B drugs following a short pursuit and search in Gunville, Newport last night (Wednesday).
The National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter from Bournemouth was called in after a suspicious vehicle – believed to be a red VW Golf – made off from an officer shortly before 20:00. The car was then abandoned at Alvington Manor Lakes off the main Gunville road and the 3 occupants fled the scene.
With the assistance of the NPAS helicopter and dog units on the ground, the three suspects were detained and remain in custody at Newport Police Station this morning on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.
