UPDATED: Police have launched a search to locate a missing Island man who hasn’t been seen since earlier this week.
Officers are working to locate 57-year-old David Whittaker from Calbourne, who hasn’t been seen since Tuesday. They have growing concerns for his welfare.
David was last seen driving a silver Vauxhall Vectra in the West Wight area.
He is described as white, 5ft 11″ tall and of large build with a beard and grey hair. He was wearing a light blue polo top and navy tank top with a grey jumper and navy trousers.
Hampshire Constabulary have been making enquiries, however are yet to issue a public appeal. Mr Whittaker’s family have taken to social media today (Thursday) to gather information as to his whereabouts.
Anyone who spots Mr Whittaker or his vehicle are asked to contact his family on 01983 531231. You can also contact Police by phoning 101 and in an emergency 999.
UPDATE FRIDAY – Mr Whittaker has made contact with his family and is said to be safe and well.
