VIDEO AND PICTURE GALLERY: A pod of dolphins have become social media stars after being captured on video off the coast of the Isle of Wight yesterday afternoon (Monday).
The large pod dived in and out of the water and surrounded boats off the Ventnor coastline as they swam around the East side of the Island. The mammals came within metres of vessels in the area and performed amazing tricks only normally seen afar from The Needles – if you’re lucky.
The rare and wonderful sighting was captured on video by Daisy Blake and photographed by Lucy Pickering, who say there was up to 30 dolphins in the area.
Islanders have been left amazed by the sighting after we shared part of this video on our Facebook page, attracting over 52,000 views.
