UPDATED: Paramedics are reported to be attending to an unconscious driver behind the wheel of his car in Lake this evening (Tuesday).
Emergency services were called to the traffic light junction of Sandown Road and Newport Road, Lake shortly before 16:30.
Island Echo understands the gentleman fell ill at the wheel, however has not been involved in any collision.
No other vehicles have been involved. Traffic is building in the area as rush hour approaches.
UPDATE @ 17:34 – The incident has been cleared and traffic is flowing.
One person has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
