A man and a woman thrown into the sea when their 14ft sailing dinghy overturned led to the launching of Cowes RNLI lifeboat this morning (Friday).
The incident happened near North Ryde Middle Buoy and, on arrival at the scene, the lifeboat – which had launched at 11:16 – found the couple had been picked up by a Southampton Harbour patrol launch.
The lifeboat managed to right the upturned dinghy and tow it to the Royal Victoria Yacht Club in Wootton Creek.
The team also delivered the couple from the patrol launch to the club, where they were met by Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team.
The lifeboat returned to station at 12:50.
