English Heritage will today (Friday) unveil a unique birthday cake at Osborne House to mark 200 years since the birth of Queen Victoria.
The lifesize replica of the former monarch, standing at 4ft 11” tall, is made from Victoria sponge and contains a staggering 298 eggs, 26kg of butter and 20kg of fondant.
The cake marks the opening of a new display of birthday gifts exchanged between Victoria and Prince Albert at Osborne. Visitors to the historic property today (Friday 24th May) can enjoy a free slice of this rather Royal cake.
