Strings Bar & Venue have added another top name to their woodland line-up, with Tom Meighan to appear at Robin Hill this Summer.
On Saturday 15th August, Strings will host Tom Meighan and his band in the grounds of Robin Hill Adventure Park. The news comes following the announcement that Scouting For Girls will play the Sunday night, as previously reported by Island Echo.
As the lead singer of Kasabian, Tom helped sell over 4million albums and was part of the band’s rise to stardom. Meighan’s unmistakable vocals are a central, and many would say essential, component on timeless tracks like ‘Fire,’ ‘Club Foot,’ and ‘Shoot the Runner’ – to name only 3.
On the back of no fewer than 5 Number One albums with his old band, Tom fronted headline festival shows across Europe – including Glastonbury, Leeds and Reading, won NME, Q and Mojo awards, as well as a Brit! Tom Meighan had it all. Bona fide British rock royalty.
But a much-publicised fall from grace saw Tom ousted from Kasabian and, in his own words…
“A couple of years that were the lowest of my life. I wasn’t sure if I’d ever get on stage again.”
Marriage, rehab, therapy and a while in the wilderness have done wonders for live wire Tom.
His first solo album – 2023’s ‘The Reckoning’ – saw the tide begin to turn for Tom Meighan, with no clearer example than his championing by Noel Gallagher who had Tom as support on a UK arena tour. Another solo album ‘Roadrunner’ followed in early 2025, which saw Tom visit the home of a sold out Strings Bar & Venue as part of his RAW tour.
Meighan’s live show with the full band is an unapologetic rock set from start to finish, bringing fresh life to those Kasabian classics that liberally pepper his set. And his brand-new bangers smartly retain those terrace style chanting choruses, those danceable guitar riffs and a stadium worthy power.
A Strings representative has said:
“Tom has proved on countless occasions that he is able to bring a crowd to life. We are excited to see this energy with the full band in what promises to get the audience singing along.
“His sets at the Isle of Wight Festival last were electric, he certainly is an incredible frontman”.
Tickets for this outdoor show will go on sale Friday (6th February) at 10:00 via www.stringsbarandvenue.com, with more acts to be announced soon.
