An opportunity for residents in Ryde to gave their say about what it’s like to be a young person in the town is coming in the form of an online World Cafe community conversation.
The online discussion is aimed at giving everyone an opportunity to have their say about safety in the town. The conversation will look to include all communities and is hoping to talk about how to encourage all ages and backgrounds to work together to really boost the vibrancy and community spirit of the town.
If you are aged between 11-18, are one of the first 100 young people to register for the World Café, and then join in with the online conversation about Ryde, you’ll be sent an Amazon voucher for £10.
The Let’s Talk, It’s Ryde’s Time to Shine World Café will take place on Thursday 1st July, and was put forward by Hampshire Constabulary and MutualGain – an organisation committed to working and engaging with local communities.
Local people and organisations committed to building a better Ryde have put this event together, and it is the first event in a programme of Let’s Talk, It’s Ryde’s Time to Shine events which will take place this year. The outcome of this online conversation will set priorities for the next phase which will be looking to invest money into small community-based ideas.
Cllr Karen lucioni says:
“This is such an important event for our community, we want every Ryde resident to come along and have their say on safety in our town. Working together we can build a better future.
“I am one for many dedicated partners who are committed in this process and will work alongside residents to tackle issues identified at the event.”
The on-line World Café will take place at 18:00, and those wishing to get involved will access the conversation using the online Zoom platform. All people will need to take part is a computer (or even a smart-phone) and the link to the conversation.
People will take part in small group conversations as if they were sitting in a café having a chat with their friends! All people need to do is register in advance to take part in this free event – once registered they will be sent the link to join in the conversation.
