Island Roads have been forced to closure Middle Road this morning (Wednesday) due to an oil spillage.
Calbourne Road has been closed from The Waverley Roundabout in Carisbrooke to the junction with Betty Haunt Lane.
Operatives are currently on scene and are working to clear the spillage from the carriageway.
The road is expected to re-open later this afternoon.
Southern Vectis says that buses will divert through Gunville and Elm Lane, Calbourne.
UPDATE @ 12:55 – The road has now fully re-opened, according to Island Roads.
Wait until UKOG tankers are dribbling oil from the proposed drilling for oil at Arreton. More accidents if such goes ahead.
