A man who damaged a window and sign at Ryde Town Club, before stabbing a door at a flat in Oakfield, has been fined £40.
Liam Hibberd, 32, of Oak Vale in Oakfield, pleaded guilty to 2 counts of criminal damage when he appeared in front of Magistrates on Tuesday morning.
Ann Smout, prosecuting, told the court that at around 15:00 on 16th October, Hibberd was seen on CCTV at Ryde Town Club walking around the premises with a pint in his hand before throwing the pint at a wall and kicking bins containing empty bottles.
He left the premises before returning just some 10 minutes later with a pool cue in his hand. Hibberd then smashed a window and damaged a sign belonging to the club.
Later, at around 16:15, Hibberd engaged in a fight near his home address with a man from a nearby property. He was asked to leave the area and did so, before returning. He kicked in the door and stabbed it with a pairing knife. He also threw bleach at a window.
Defending, Oscar Vincent said that his client was normally a law-abiding citizen and that a change in his borderline personality disorder medication had resulted in different and mixed emotions at the time of the incident. He also added that the fight wasn’t completely unprovoked.
Magistrates handed Hibberd a £40 fine. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85, compensation of £50 to both Ryde Town Club and the victim of the criminal damage near his home, as well as a £16 victim surcharge fee.

Either evil, or mental, needs locking up either way. Such rubbish scatter clones far and wide to ensure the next generation has more rubbish to contend with.
There isn’t a medication for Borderline Personality Disorder as far as I know, I have the disorder. Behaviour therapy could help sufferers but really this story is of a drunken idiot who can’t hold his booze.
Electroshock treatment for nutters like him would work lol
Proof reader required. Good pay…
It’s pretty cheap for a berk to go beserk these days…
Knife and bleach. Wet, naive sentence by our lax judiciary.
Prisons resemble the United Nations so no room for our own rubbish to have meaningful sentences EVER again
Takes no personal responsibility, blames the medication, his disorder rather than the fact he chose to drink alcohol. Evidently a wrong ‘un who is a blight on society unless they can take ownership and manage themselves appropriately.
I hope he gets the help he needs and also punished according to our laws.
Jesus still loves him and we should all open our hearts and homes to these unfortunates especially at this special time of year.
God bless.
OI ! Silly bollox………..
