The Isle of Wight Festival is this year to be sponsored by cinch, the online car buying website.
Organisers of the annual event, which would normally take place in June but will this year be held in September, made the announcement yesterday (Tuesday).
The festival will now be known as ‘cinch presents Isle of Wight Festival 2021’ with new logos to match.
With the COVID pandemic easing and life expected to return to near normality from June, organisers are confident they will be able to stage a ‘Best of British’ festival between 16th-19th September 2021 – the first time the Seaclose Park festival has been held outside of its normal June spot. A crowd of 50,000 are expected.
Performances from the likes of Liam Gallagher, Snow Patrol, David Guetta, Duran Duran, Sir Tom Jones, The Script, James Arthur, All Saints and Razorlight are expected across the weekend.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Festival has said:
“We’re thrilled to welcome cinch as our new headline partner to put music and entertainment back at the heart of life.
“cinch will be offering faff- free experiences, entertainment and more to make this summer’s festival even more special”.
Tickets are already on sale and are said to be selling fast for what will be the first festival for many in over 2 years.
You can purchase your tickets through The Price is Wight on a payment plan at https://www.thepriceiswight.co.uk/product/iow-festival-payment-plan21/ or full payment at https://www.thepriceiswight.co.uk/product/iow-festival-full-payment-21/. So Brightstone cancels the Christmas tree festival due to potential problems with social distancing, but we can have 50000 crammed into a field. The mind boggles .
And now the garlic festival cancelled.
Who cares what it’s called.Just a way of ripping off the people that go.Litter everywhere and disruption to local residents. There’s no such thing as counter culture, just some thing made up by people trying to sell a product. It’s like the people who get tattoo’s and think it makes them an individual. No your following a trend.
That’s funny “Cinch” a car buying company that won’t deliver to the Isle Of Wight. Priceless.
Can’t see it happening.
Being a holiday Isle, every variant and mutation will be rampant by the end of the busiest summer season ever here.
Lockdown will likely be back once all holiday makers purses and wallets have been emptied.
Hope I am wrong, but doubt I am. Watch and learn.
Yep I agree, come September we will all have the Indian variant, so I say let’s go out with a bang, end of days!
Who ????????????????????
Just imagine IF we all have to stand 1m or two apart to get in, the queue will stretch back to Bembridge.
A disaster just for greed not need.
I have paid other year, but would rather wait until we can really enjoy it, not have even more restrictions as that is NOT what a festy should be about.
Call it off now
Hope the new council will stop this ludicrous idiot Giddings from going ahead with this.
