Island Roads have been working to clear the remnants of mud and earth from Long Lane in Newport after a lorry accidentally dropped its load across the carriageway.
The incident occurred shortly before 11:30 this morning when an 8-wheeled tipper lost some of its load just off the Staplers Road roundabout on the Long Lane exit.
Although most of the debris was cleared by the operator themselves, Island Roads were called in with a sweeper to clear the last remaining patches to ensure driver safety,
The road was partially blocked for a time with Southern Vectis Route 8 buses diverting locally.
We should be grateful it is only mud.
Oops lucky no one got hurt
The interesting question is HOW did he lose it, Was something like the tail gate not secured ?
Accidents do happen, and YOU try working out all day in freezing conditions with thick gloves trying to do up fixings ‘perfectly’ every time.
that BS answer won’t stand up in court.
