The Morrisons Foundation has donated over £13,000 to SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity which supports military personnel, veterans and their families.
The donation will be used to upgrade 3 en-suite bathrooms at the Ryde-based St Vincent’s Care Home for elderly veterans on the Island, making sure they are fully accessible and can be used independently by residents.
The cheque was presented on behalf of the Foundation by Angela Tuliyema from the Morrisons store in Southwark, who said:
“We were delighted to present this cheque to a charity which is supporting the Armed Forces family in our local community.”
Sharon Atter from SSAFA St Vincent’s said:
“We are overjoyed with this generous grant from the Morrisons Foundation, which will help us to ensure that we can continue to provide the best possible facilities for our residents.”
The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarkets in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects which help to improve people’s lives.
