A mum-of-2 from Newport, who was stopped by Police on her moped whilst on her way back from a girl’s night out, was drunk at the time, a court has heard. Jennifer Drewery, 34, of Robin Hood Street, admitted drink driving when she appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court earlier this week (19th March). Prosecuting, Liz Miller, told the court that on the evening of 3rd March, officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were on patrol on the A3056 at Downend when they noticed a Honda moped swerving onto the other side of the carriageway, narrowly missing vehicles as they continued to drive toward Newport. The following officers, activated their lights and signalled for the rider to pull over. Checks on the vehicle show that the Drewery – who was unsteady on her feet – was the registered keeper of the vehicle. A roadside breath test returned a positive reading as did further evidential readings conducted at Newport Police Station. The lowest of those returned a reading of 94. Defending, Barry Arnett, told the the court that Drewery – who has no previous convictions on her record – had been on a girls night out and was going to stay at her parents house but when she got there for some reason decided she would try to ride home. Magistrates adjourned the case until the 3rd May to allow a pre-sentence report to be compiled. Drewery has been handed an interim driving ban in the meantime.

Having said that, or course, if we were to return all the illegal newcomers to wherever a dna swab showed they originated from, then we would, once again, as we did pre the never ending arrivals, have room in our prisons for our own growing low life.
Also it may be wise for the social security to check this woman’s, for it is no ‘Mother’ in the true sense, to see if it is claiming too much, and likely pretending it too, is in ‘poverty’, but, like them all, still can afford drugs and alcohol.
Yet the dim will still defend the rubbish, hence the problems grow and her offspring will be in the courts from young teens upwards I will wager. Needs womb removed at birth.
