UPDATED: The Met Office are warning of further wet weather this weekend and have put a yellow weather warning in place from 08:00 this morning (Saturday) until midday tomorrow.
Outbreaks of showery rain, heavy at times, will spread from the southwest with outbreaks producing rainfall accumulations of between 10-20mm in just a few hours, and locally up to 30mm over a longer period of time.
Islanders are being warned that given saturated ground conditions, this latest rainfall could lead to some local flooding and disruption to transport.
A Flood Alert remains in place for the Eastern Yar and tributaries from Whitwell to Bembridge.
UPDATE @ 11:45 – The Met Office have updated their weather warning, reducing the length of the warning period to 22:00 tonight.
Lightning and gusty winds are now said to be additional hazards, especially around coastal areas.
