MEDINA COLLEGE TAKE SECOND PLACE IN DAY 3 OF 2019 ROCK CHALLENGE

The Isle of Wight’s Medina College scooped second place at last night’s (Wednesday’s) 2019 Rock Challenge in Portsmouth.

As well as taking a podium position, the hard-working students were handed 13 Awards for Excellence for their performance of ‘Chernobyl’s Curse’.

Medina’s team headed across the Solent yesterday to take to the stage at Portsmouth Guildhall in Day 3 of the closely-fought competition.

Judges were impressed with the school’s performance, awarding them for Choreography, Performance Skill, Stage Use, Concept, Drama, Soundtrack, Set Design and Function, Visual Enhancement, Entertainment, Stage Crew, Costuming Character, Lighting and Video Performance.

Additional awards were given for Student Leadership and School Community Support.

Ryde Academy’s Premier Showcasing team were awarded Awards of Excellence for Performance Skill, Stage Use, Concept, Drama, Soundtrack, Costuming Character and Visual Enhancement.
