A car park in Shanklin has been cordoned off by Police and a man in his 60s has been rushed to hospital following an incident involving a car.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were all alerted to a concern for welfare situation on the Esplanade at just gone 09:20 this morning (Tuesday).
Island Echo understands a 64-year-old was found unresponsive in his vehicle.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
The car park beside the local amusements has been cordoned off whilst firefighters from Ryde and Shanklin ensure that the vehicle is safe, due to the circumstances of the discovery.
It’s thought the vehicle has been in situ for several hours – potentially 4 hours before emergency services were alerted.
