The female driver of an Audi has had a lucky escape tonight (Thursday) after her silver car came to rest upside down after rolling into a hedge in atrocious driving conditions.
Police and ambulance crews were called to Rowborough Lane between Ryde and Brading at around 22:45 after the luxury car – an Audi TT – left the carriageway and came to rest on its roof deep within a large hedge.
No one has suffered any serious injuries in the incident, which has occurred on a partially flooded section of road. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
Nearby Brading Roundabout has become flooded in the heavy downpours, which has left surface water on many of the Island’s roads.
Recovery for the vehicle has been arranged and Police remain on scene.
The road remains open.
UPDATE: The vehicle has now been recovered and Police have left the scene.
