Briary Court in Cowes has opened its doors to showcase its newly refurbished swimming pool for residents.
The pool is said to be the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the local retirement development which was originally built in 1989. It is managed by FirstPort Retirement Property Services and is home to 60 residents.
Residents’ friends and family, local clients and prospective buyers were all invited to be the first to see the new pool recently.
The pool has been completely gutted, redecorated and modernised with a new air conditioning system, specialist flooring, LED spotlights, reconfigured changing rooms and new furniture to complement the decor.
Development Manager, Cherry Kingdom, said:
“We’re so thrilled with the results of the pool refurbishment. The furniture is sleek and sophisticated and the beautiful colours used to paint the walls and pool itself make you feel like you’re swimming in the ocean.”
The pool is a huge contributor to the health and wellbeing of residents at Briary Court. Many of whom use it to ease conditions such as arthritis and to enhance their mobility. It also acts as a social hub that creates a real sense of community.
Resident, Ken Parker, said:
“As residents of Briary Court since 2007, my wife and I are enjoying a long and happy retirement and can think of no other place we would rather live. The swimming pool has been a great asset, both to our health and pleasure. Now that it has been modernised, it will again add much to our lives”.
