Monday 3rd June – 7th June 2024
• Aaron Thomas, 19, of West Street, Ryde pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis). He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £48 surcharge. • Daniel Sweet, 32, of Village Way, Newport Road, Lake pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, namely a yellow metal coloured knuckle duster. He was handed a 12-month community order with 80 hours of unpaid work attached. He was ordered to pay £85 costs with a £114 surcharge. Sweet also pleaded guilty to using a passenger vehicle with tyres with insufficient tread – less than 1.6mm. He was handed 3 penalty points on his driving licence. • Jack Taylor, 25, of New Street, Newport pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis). He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £133 and ordered to pay £85 costs. Taylor also pleaded guilty to speeding – namely 37 miles per hour in a 30mph limit. He was fined £66.
