Lady Grylls hosted a fundraising champagne and honey breakfast at Solent View Café in St Helens yesterday (Wednesday).
Martin Zuch gave a talk on why he gave up being a successful hedge fund manager to start a social enterprise producing Mama Buci honey in Zambia, which supplements the income of over 10,000 families and supports a school for over 400 children. Guests were then treated to dishes flavoured with Mama Buci honey.
Sponsored by Red Funnel, the event was co-hosted by Gerry Price, The Coastal Gardener, who has her nursery at the Fakeham Farm site and who offered bee friendly plants for sale.
Funds were raised for the Dementia UK Admiral Nurse appeal.
