Island-born journalist and broadcaster, John Hannam, who has interviewed over 5,000 people in his 48 year career in the media, is all set to launch his fourth book since 2016.
‘More Wight Connections’, which has a foreword by Level 42’s Mark King, features chapters on 100 people who have strong links with the Isle of Wight. Many were born here, including some legendary local characters, and others have resided here for many years.
Among those featured are Jeremy Irons, Martin Woodward, Pete Hogman, Maurice Gilliam, Roger French, David and Jenny Ball, Alex Dyke, Cyril Daish, Richard Wright, Geoffrey Hughes, Mary Ralph and Jet Harris.
An added feature that should prove very popular is a special section with over 60 archive photographs of past Island groups and entertainers. These will bring back so many memories.
John has several book signings lined up including Glyn Morgan’s in Shanklin on Saturday 5th October, between 10:00 and noon. There will be several more held across the Island in the run up to Christmas.
