Communities across the Isle of Wight came together today to mark Remembrance Sunday, honouring the sacrifices of the Armed Forces with services, parades, and acts of remembrance.
The county service in Newport brought together veterans, service personnel, civic leaders, and residents for a poignant ceremony at St Thomas’ Square – as photographed by Christopher Jackson.
The event featured the sounding of the Last Post on a historic silver bugle once carried into battle by the Isle of Wight Rifles, followed by the traditional 2 minutes’ silence and wreath-laying at the war memorial.
In Cowes, a large turnout gathered at Northwood Park, where local youth groups, uniformed services, and community organisations paid their respects.

Island Echo live-streamed the Remembrance service in Ryde – which included the reading out of names of those lost from the town.
