The Island Stages rally will not take place in 2025, with organisers instead setting their sights on a revised date of February 2026, it has been confirmed.
The closed-road motorsport event was expected to return in November this year, following the success of last year’s inaugural hosting. However, a combination of logistical pressures and a congested events calendar has prompted the Isle of Wight Car Club to shift the rally to the start of 2026.
One of the key reasons behind the decision is the proximity of other motorsport events. Due to a clash with Easter, Isle of Wight Speed Trials organisers moved the Sandown Sprint from April to September, which would place 2 major events close together – a challenge for the small group of volunteers who manage both.
Additionally, November 2025 already features the Roger Albert Clark Rally, and Bournemouth & District Car Club – who assist with the Island Stages – face restrictions on their use of Bovington Camp in Dorset during that period.
Organisers say that allowing extra time for planning is also vital, with closed-road events requiring significant lead time.
While the gap may appear to be a full year off, they point out that it’s effectively a 15-month gap between rallies.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Car Club has said:
“Hopefully the first weekend of the February half term will become a regular slot for the event, and fits well with the wider rallying calendar.
“Being at one end of an out-of-season half term holiday also gives those mainlanders attending the event the opportunity to make a longer break of it.”
The Island Stages rally is now set to return on Sunday 15th February 2026, and is expected to draw rally fans from across the country to the Isle of Wight once again.
More island events to encourage speeding, does
IW Council care about the climate, or NOT!

Get back in your box. Ridiculous comment.
Since the ferry companies are killing traditional tourism on our Island, we need more of this shining a light on our Island. Bringing people over here who would not ordinarily visit.
