Local Classified Ads website Islebuy has announced that it will be supporting the Island-based project ‘1 More Tree’ by planting trees on behalf of local businesses when advertising within their 32-page monthly magazine.
1 More Tree offers the unique opportunity to purchase your very own tree, which includes a tag with your name or business name attached to each sapling. Each tag remains on the tree for at least 25 years.
Islebuy’s collaboration with 1 More Tree is aimed at helping to offset the carbon footprint involved in printing and distributing 10,000 magazine copies across the Isle of Wight, as well as helping local businesses reduce their own footprint.
John Williams, Managing Director of Islebuy says:
“We are incredibly proud to be able to support such a fantastic cause, preserving our Island and helping local businesses.
“As soon as this opportunity arose we grabbed it with both hands and we are pleased to be the only publication offering this on the Isle of Wight.
“There is a significant carbon footprint that comes with printing a publication and we hope by planting more trees we can help, even in only a small way, to counteract this.”
1 More Tree is currently predominantly planting at the Isle of Wight Lavender Farm on Staplers Road, Newport. Volunteers and sponsors are always needed, see full details on their website. (www.1moretree.com).
Islebuy Magazine can be found at many Island retailers, including Lidl, Aldi, Tesco Express, Sainsbury’s Local, Central, Day Lewis Pharmacy, Hovertravel, Poundland, Iceland and many more.
