UPDATED: Island Line’s train service between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin has been suspended this morning (Friday) due to a power failure on the network.
No trains are currently operating in either direction and alternative transport has been put in place in the form of a shuttle bus.
Passengers are advised to use the shuttle bus service which will stop at Shanklin Train Station, Lake Memorial (Lake Hill), Sandown (Broadway), Brading (Bullring) and St John’s Train Station.
It is anticipated that the service will remain out of action until midday.
UPDATE @ 09:10 – Island Line say their service is suspended until further notice as they await the arrival of engineers from the mainland.
It is anticipated the service will remain suspended until at least 14:00.
UPDATE @ 15:00 – Engineers have successfully resolved the technical issues and as such Island Line have now resumed a normal service.
