The Isle of Wight’s very own up and coming indie-rock band Avocado Sunrise have released their début single, 17.
The teenage quartet, comprising of Jake Goodrum, Patrick Bray, George Lawrence and Finn Sandy, recorded the track in a bedroom using just a single mic and it was mastered at Cowes-based Studio 5A.
Since playing their first gig back in December the lads have had quite a big few months, impressing audiences supporting ECSESS, playing at the Atmos Music launch party and winning a Battle of the Bands competition at Coburg’s in Ryde.
Their sound is inspired by the likes of The 1975 and Catfish and the Bottlemen, as well as fellow Islanders XOCKHA, who they shared a bill with at Trinity Theatre.
Lead singer, Jake Goodrum, said:
“We’re massively proud of our first single 17 and hopefully it will be well received. Performing songs we’ve written to an audience is very rewarding, so we’re looking forward to seeing how well it goes down”.
17, the début single by Avocado Sunrise, is available to stream now on iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Google Play and Deezer.
