Hovertravel services have been suspended leaving passengers stranded in Ryde and Southsea this afternoon (Friday).
The cross-Solent operator has announced the suspension on its website.
Island Flyer originally left Ryde at 15:10 but has remained in Southsea since its arrival there over an hour ago.
Meanwhile, Island Echo readers in the Southsea terminal have explained that both hovercraft were parked on the landing pad for a time before Solent Flyer departed from Southsea and returned to Ryde, arriving at 15:55 without passengers.
No reason has been given for the suspension, but it’s understood that a technical failure could be to blame for the disruption.
An update on the service is expected at 16:30.
UPDATE @ 16:52 – Services will resume from 17:15 at Ryde and 17:30 from Southsea.
I feel for Hovertravel. They are the only operator that try t offer a service

Try using their website yam or their app – it has their service status on it – not too difficult, or of course you could try another radical solution – ask
