Hovertravel has launched a new limited-time experience combining its iconic hovercraft journey with a 2-course set lunch at Robert Thompson’s acclaimed RTCafé Grill in Ryde.
The exclusive partnership with Robert Thompson MBE runs until 31st March and includes a day return crossing on the world’s only year-round passenger hovercraft service, paired with a carefully curated meal at RTCafé Grill, located at the Royal Maritime House overlooking the Solent.
Julie Horrocks, Head of Sales Development at Hovertravel, said:
“We’re delighted to partner with Robert Thompson and the team at RTCafé Grill to create something truly special for our customers. Hovercraft travel is already a unique and memorable experience, and pairing that with exceptional food makes for a fantastic day out.
“It’s a wonderful way to showcase two great British icons – fast meets foodie – and gives people another reason to explore everything our South Coast has to offer.”
Available Thursday to Saturday between 12:00–17:00, the offer is priced at £59 for adults and £56 for seniors. Optional upgrades include snacks to share and desserts for a small additional charge.
RTCafé Grill, known for its relaxed, modern British and European dishes, makes use of seasonal island produce. Guests can expect flavourful starters and hearty main courses that reflect Chef Thompson’s signature approach to approachable, quality-driven cooking.
Robert Thompson MBE said:
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with Hovertravel, who are synonymous with the Isle of Wight, and of course, Ryde. We often welcome guests who come over just for the day, and this offer will open this up so much more, giving mainland guests another reason to fly over!”
