Wightlink is to run an hourly timetable on its Fastcat service for the next 2 weekends to allow for the completion of essential maintenance.
The cross-Solent operator has announced that a revised timetable will be in operation on the Ryde Pier Head-Portsmouth Harbour route on Saturday 7th, Sunday 8th, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th August 2021.
It’s said that the reduced service is to enable teams to complete essential maintenance on one of the catamaran vessels.
The 09:45, 10:45, 11:45, 12:45, 13:45 and 21:20 sailings from Portsmouth have been scrapped, alongside the 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 13:15, 14:15 and 21:47 sailings from Ryde.
Essential maintenance? Not like they’ve been used a lot for the last 18 months. Could have done it then.
those cats have just had refits – which they did not that long ago – pointing out how they were ready for the lifting of lockdowns etc
they need to do maintenance in the peak travel season – yeah right – do not believe them – stuck for staff are they
What a bloody joke this company is they can’t even run a full service midweek time Borris sorted out these bunch of half wits who think they can run a service bloody embarrassment
Maybe a daft question but why don’t they do this “essential maintenance” Monday – Friday when it’s an hourly service anyway? (or 2 hourly at times)
They’ve been running once an our for months now.
the way things are going they will be running once a day. also the fast cat does not link to the trains. stupid if you ask me. the managing director of wightlink needs sacking.
Stop calling it a service – Wightlink do not provide a service
