A local scooter rider – Joe Crockett from Freshwater – is making an urgent appeal for funding after being selected to compete in the World Skate Games in Argentina at the end of October.
Joe – who recently came 4th in a national competition and is one of the country’s top riders – has grown up on the Island and hones his scooter riding skills at Freshwater Skatepark.
Freshwater Parish Council are currently going out to tender to build a brand new state-of-the-art skatepark, and Joe has been fully involved in promoting the project.
Joe needs to raise around £5,000 to be able to compete in the World Skate Games and has to confirm he is able to go by 6th October.

Hopefully this state-of-the-art Skatepark is built by someone that is not going to rip them off or do a poor job like previous efforts.
